“Taming: A Folk Tale”

 

A bold, queer reimagining of “The Taming of the Shrew” that takes place in the heart of Appalachia with a bit of a ... bloody twist :)

We Created a GoFundMe!

This is Katie Wetch, Cheyenne Haynes, and Meagan Harris—and we are Witches 3! A fierce Dallas based women & queer run theatre company; conjuring daring stories with sharp teeth and unapologetic spirit!! We have gathered with a simple intention; to spark imagination, restore the play in plays, and conjure a creative space where everyone feels like they belong.

 

We are in the process of prepping for our premiere production Taming: A Folktale, an adaptation of Taming of the Shrew set in Appalachia and featuring music by the incredible Justin Locklear. As a newer company and as three independent artists who stay busy, we could use a little help reaching our goal budget- which is why we decided to start this gofundme!

 

The money you donate will be used to pay our artists and creatives, who are VITAL in making this beautiful show a reality! We also have personal sponsorships gifts as a thank you for donating:

Harassment Policy: Witches 3 Productions has a zero – tolerance policy for discrimination, sexual harassment, bullying, hostility in the work environment or any form of harassment in all rehearsal spaces, production meetings, auditions, and company sponsored events, as well as digital harassment. Ifany employee is found to violate those guidelines, they will be dismissed from the company and/or project. A cast advocate will be designated and chosen by the cast to serve as a representative in issues between the cast or crew and the producers or artistic directing staff, and they may report theseissues to stage management to be addressed and reported as soon as possible. As a further resource for reporting harassment actors may reach out to equity staff or use Lighthouse Services to make a confidential report. Witches 3 Productions strictly forbids any form of reprisal, demotion, or blacklisting against anyone who reports harassment or participates in helping in an investigation. Witches 3Productions also prohibits the signing of NDA’s as a condition of employment that may prohibit employees from reporting harassment or discussing violations with law enforcement or the union. Witches 3 Productions is committed to creating an inclusive theatrical community and believes in fostering an environment that welcomes and embraces individuals of all backgrounds. Witches3 Productions will strive to do so through diversity, equity and inclusion. Witches 3 Productions welcomes the community, both cast, crew, and patrons to open a dialogue to help adapt our practices and ensure we build an environment where all feel included, seen, and heard.
